When you’re deciding on the look and feel of your bathroom, consider the long-term appeal of your design. A highly stylised, on-trend bathroom might look great in the short term, but what's appealing now may well look terribly out-of-date in the not too distant future. Sometimes less is more. Likewise, while looks are important, they shouldn't come at the expense of the bathroom's functionality. The ECHO design team can help you match your inspiration with functionality and design excellence.

Vanities
Often the focal point of the bathroom, your vanity needs to be functional but can also be fabulous!
Choosing a vanity is a very important part of bathroom design. Not only does it need to look good, fit properly and suit the rest of your bathroom space, it also needs to be functional and work with your lifestyle. For example, if you’re not sharing a bathroom you probably only need one basin. On the other hand, if your main bathroom gets a lot of use from a large family, you might want to consider a twin vanity with plenty of storage space. The width, height and shape of your mirror may also be affected by the amount of space available too - and how you want to accentuate it.

Choice of style, choice of basin, where to locate the vanity; you’ll have to weigh all of this carefully to make the right decision. Finding a vanity that matches the rest of your bathroom design is well worth spending a bit of time on. If you’re not happy with the results, the bathroom will never feel quite right.
When deciding where your vanity should go, you need to keep the plumbing and electrics in mind too; a beautiful vanity is no good if you can't stand in front of the mirror to use the hair dryer or straightener. Likewise, installing the vanity on the same wall as the shower and bath taps may help you to cut down on unnecessary plumbing costs.

Themes
Your bathroom theme can include whatever you like! Simply adding fresh houseplants, bold rugs, and a new laundry hamper can refresh your bathroom in minutes. You might be ready to invest in a total remodel for even bigger impact or adding a new bathroom to your existing home or even building from scratch. Whatever your aim, a theme is key.
You can add luxury relaxation to your evenings with a freestanding bathtub or make the morning routine that much easier by adding his-and-hers sinks. Having colourful tiles, adding wallpaper, or replacing hardware can create a theme you'll love for years to come.
When you're designing your bathroom, consider how to make the space function for you - whether you prefer to hide clutter in storage baskets or showcase favourite products and neatly folded linens on open shelves. Bright white walls will always look fresh and clean, but don't overlook adding vibrant tiles, towels, or mats for a pop of colour.
